Arena Supercross 7:30 PM gates at 6pm January 6-7 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. First Friday Art Talk 6 and 7pm at Park Central Branch Library at 128 Park Central Sq.   Adults free 831-1342

First Friday Art Walk a self-guided art gallery tour 6-10pm, downtown Springfield.  Features art, live music,  hands on activities at several venues.   Exhibits remain at galleries throughout the month.  FREE   849-8255

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides for the Holidays  6-10pm  January 6-7 Park Central Square.  $5 for each rider  848-4648.

Little Acorns Regal Eagles 11-11:45am or 1:30- 2:15pm, Springfield Conservation Nature Center 4600 S. Chisman Rd.  Learn about the kings of the say.  Ages 3-6 free registration required 888-4237

Owl prowl and evening stroll 6 - 9. Springfield Conservation Nature Center 4600 S. Chrisman Rd.   The trails will be open and patrolled.   Dickerson Park Zoo docents will offer programs at 6:30pm and 7:30pm to get in a close look at the Missouri Owls.  FREE,  all ages, 888-4237

Predator Deer Hunting Clinic 6-8pm, Missouri Department of Conservation Office 2630 N. Mayfair Ave. Participants can learn the calls, techniques, firearms, and strategies used in predators hunting.  Free, registration required. 895-6881 extension 1644

Springfield Citizen Science Kickoff 6-8pm at the Discovery Center at 438 St. Louis Street.  The launch of a year-long series and citizen science projects.  Learn how to gather data and send you collected data to scientists wh are researching a variety of  topics free 862-9910

Extreme Couponing Class 1:30-4pm at Tender Care Center at 3729 N. Glenstone Ave.  Cost $15 763-4236

Greater Springfield Farmers Market 9am to noon alternating Saturdays.  Battlefield Mall  at 2825 N. Glenstone Ave. the winter market offers naturally fed pork, beef , bison and chicken honey rroasted granola, premium roasted coffee, dairy products, mushrooms, preserves, baked goods, handmade jewelry, and wood products.  The market will resume normal hours in April.
