I was just quoted in the LA Times June 21st real estate article because of my comments on Active Rain. Ever wonder what the benefit is to blogging, reading, and commenting? Well for me, it is about expanding my horizons, thinking outside the box, and sharing who I am with my community and potential clients. I have always had passion for doing the right thing, but after writing I find those thoughts are vibrant when talking about what I do and who I am to others . After all, everyone knows 5 different Realtors they can refer to friends and family, business associates and strangers. But only when they know you, like you, and trust you do YOU come to the top of the list as the person they would trust their reputation with.
When I think of real estate transactions, I think of it as the time to keep my clients thoughts, feelings, and ideas to myself. Not only is it in my contractual agreement with my clients, it is just not my right to share. Those thoughts, feelings, and ideas are precious commodities that can affect the way another structures their response.
Whenever I meet with clients I always tell them, keep your cards close to your chest, and I won't be showing them to anyone either. I have heard agents disclose sickness without authorization in writing, comments about how difficult it is to get the husband and wife in the same room, how they are so motivated that they will entertain a much lower price, the buyer will be putting a new roof on reguardless if you don't agree to replace it, no they won't take that amount, or I am certain we have a deal without getting a signature.
I am very pleased to be quoted by the LA Times, see quote at the end of the article. This was a VERY GOOD DAY!!
